How we research tires
A single season on one vehicle tells you little. Hundreds of owner reports show how a tire holds up over years, on real rigs, in real weather. We collect that evidence, count it, check it against the manufacturer data, and show you all of it.
Three kinds of evidence, always labeled
Manufacturer data
Sizes, load ranges, tread depth, treadwear warranty and 3PMSF snow ratings, taken from official spec sheets and linked on every page.
Counted public reports
Forum threads and retailer reviews from owner communities. We record each report's claims, count how often each issue comes up, and link representative sources. Every finding says how many reports it comes from.
Our readers' own reports
Owners submit their tire, size, vehicle, miles, PSI and verdict through our Rate Your Tires form. We review each one before it counts and publish the totals.
How a page gets made
We gather maker specs and owner reports, count what owners say, and write the page from that evidence only, with AI help for drafting and tables. An editor checks every fact against its source before it's published. We re-check pages on a schedule and note each change at the bottom.
What we never do
- Invent reviewers, quotes, photos or counts
- Show a number without its source
- Let a commission change a ranking
- Publish a page without the editor's sign-off
How we make money
Some links earn us a commission from the retailers we link to. That's how the site stays free. When the evidence says skip a product that pays us, we say skip it.
